Guiding User Journeys Through Human-Centric Design
The Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Future Finance group came to us looking for a tablet-friendly publication explaining how its programs support life-changing infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. The catch? The amount and complexity of the content demanded a UX-led process that didn’t sacrifice beauty for function.
We started by developing multiple user journeys through the publication. Leading with UX meant we could easily envision how stakeholders would interact with the content before sinking valuable resources into a design language — similar to how a website may be developed.
From there, we created a comprehensive design system and a consistent navigation structure that allows users to easily access information and jump between sections. Interactive charts allow users to click through each step of IDB’s program process, gaining invaluable information about each stage.
The design is bright and approachable, leaning heavily on photos that showcase individual projects and the people on the ground who are improving the lives of others around them. The result is a usable, compelling showcase of Future Finance’s programs and their impact.
